The third day's section starts at the Mösern Information Office and leads along Panorama Trails No. 2 and No. 27 to the scenic Ropferstubâm. From the info office, head slightly downhill before turning right off the main road near Hotel Habhof. Follow the road uphill to the Peace Bell and walk past it (be sure to enjoy the view here).
At the next intersection, keep right and follow the signs towards Lottenseehütte. A short stretch follows an asphalt road. At the next intersection, turn left towards Buchen and follow the signs to Ropferstubâm. (If you'd like, you can take a right detour at the intersection to Lottenseehütte.) Once you reach Ropferstubâm, itâs a great idea to stop by the restaurant and the neighboring mountain farming museum, where you can learn about life in the mountains. From there, Trail No. 24 continues through Katzenloch, an old "pass" where lynxes, wildcats, wolves, and bears had to cross the snowy landscape from the Inn Valley over the Alps.
To reach Katzenloch, first follow the asphalt road down to the main road. After a sharp right turn, take a left into the forest and enter Katzenloch. After about 40 minutes, you'll emerge in the Moos district. From there, follow the asphalt road for about 1.5 kilometers toward the Obern district until you reach Obern Chapel. At the intersection, go left and continue until you cross a bridge. After the bridge, turn left and immediately right (before the info point) and continue to the Klamm parking lot (P12). Pass the parking lot, take the next intersection left, and after a few meters, turn right toward Wettersteinhütte. Follow the signs to Wettersteinhütte, where, after a steep climb of over 500 meters (we recommend poles and possibly crampons), a cozy mountain hut evening awaits.
When you arrive at Wettersteinhütte, itâs worth pausing for a moment to enjoy the fantastic alpine panorama and breathtaking views of Hohe Munde, the Tuxer Alps, and the Stubai Alps. After a delicious dinner, you can either marvel at the starry sky outside or snuggle up in the hut's dormitory.
