The Transalp Challenge 2001 followed these roads. Starting from Villnöss, you circle the Peitlerkofel and the Ruefen and/or the Aferergeisler. The first ascent brings you to the Schlüter Hut and the Kreuzkofeljoch (2,344 metres). From here, you will see the Peitlerkofel for first time. Drive across the Peitler meadows. Soon, you will reach Campill and St. Martin, where you start your second ascent. At point number 15, there is another short descent. You will come to the Untermoj and the Würzjoch (2,207 metres). The first part of this route is an ideal link from Brixen via Villnöss to St Vigil in the Gader Valley.
