From the Schranzberg car park, follow the signs to the Naviser Hütte, where you can choose either the shorter path through the forest or the somewhat longer forest path. From the Naviser Hütte at the edge of the forest you continue on into open terrain to the Stöcklalm, here you ignore the trail markings to the Lizumer Reckner. Trail nr. 25 starts at the alpine pasture and leads now a little steeper southeast past a cross (2.361m) and later past a small lake up to the Naviser Kreuzjöchl. The summit of the Lizumer Reckner is already clearly visible from here. Follow trail nr. 25 along the ridge (be careful of the steep rock faces on the right side) up to Griffjoch and the deep blue Stafflsee behind it. The route continues through dark rocks and scree (Trail No. 325) to a point where it becomes a gorge between Lizumer Reckner and Geier. Now to the left over some small climbing passages (rope belay) and a few more meters to the cross at the summit at 2.886m.
The descent is back to the Griffjoch and from there down via trail nr. 325 and at a fork in the path you turn left along the signposting (nr. 18) to the Poltenalm with a refreshment stop. From the alpine pasture you descend via the forest path or the somewhat shorter path through the forest to the car park at the starting point.
