Starting from the car park, the trail first leads past beautiful alpine meadows and sparse larch forests into the wild, untouched Hinterenns, a valley basin impressively framed by the high limestone walls of the Obernberger Tribulaun and the Schwarze Wand. After some time, the light forests give way to more and more pine slippers, which seem to grow particularly well in the calcareous soils. At a small bottom the path finally turns and leads in a wide arc across the northern flank of the Obernberger Tribulauns, which is traversed by gravel heaps, to the Obernberger See. High above the valley floor you get a unique impression of the Obernbergertal and its beauty. But Obernberger See, which you finally reach after a good hour of beautiful hiking, also has extraordinary things to offer - its unspoiled beauty and clarity is widely known, not for nothing is it a nature reserve. Those who still have time and leisure can join the tour by walking around the lake. Otherwise, the tour takes you over cleanly maintained mountain meadows, past rustic huts and back to the starting point.
ROUTE DESCRIPTION
From the parking lot next to the GH Waldesruh, an asphalt road leads westwards at the beginning, passing the last farms and dwellings of the valley. Shortly behind, at the end of the road, the paths are divided up. Here you have to take the left meadow path with the number 127, which continues to wind along the valley floor. After a few hundred metres, behind a muddy ditch, the beautifully designed Hubertus Chapel is hidden on the right side of the mountain. A short visit is worthwhile in any case, then we continue through slightly rising terrain along a nice wide path to Hinterenns. Finally one reaches a small alpine pasture and a signpost that tries to announce the branching of the paths. The path on the left with no. 92, also called Seesteig, is the right one, follow it. The path is now relatively constant in altitude, through pine laths and giant gravel around the northern flank of the Obernberger Tribulaun. After about one hour you reach the bend of a forest path. Enter this and walk uphill along the ascending road until you reach the path with the number 129, which leads up from the lake. Turn left here and follow it until you reach the beginning of the Obernberger See. If you want, you can make yourself comfortable at the water's edge or add the small or large lake tour, otherwise you can take the descent, which can be done either along the forest path or the somewhat steeper meadow path, which will lead you back to the car park.
