The starting point for the ski tour up the Kreuzkogel is the car park next to the valley station for the Goldbergbahn lifts in Sportgastein. The actual climb begins at the lift mid-station. The first section of the Goldbergbahn is included in the day ticket. From here, you will follow the signposted route next to the left side of piste S1 up to the mountain station. Initially, you will have to tackle rather steep mountainsides, followed by flattish, undulating terrain, then concluding with a moderately steep ascent to the mountain station. From the mountain station, you will be able to reach the summit of the Kreuzkogel in about 5 minutes. Having arrived at the top, you will be rewarded with great views of the surrounding mountain world and the imposing 3000 m peaks of the Hohe Tauern range. The fees for use of the car park, the lift ride on the first section of the Goldbergbahn as well as use of the marked ski-touring route are included in the Piste Touring Single Ticket, the Piste Touring Season Ticket along with all multiday and season passes.
