The third stage of the Weserbergland Trail leads for about 20 km through the Reinhardswald Nature Park from the Sleeping Beauty Palace Sababurg via Gottsbüren to the spa town of Bad Karlshafen.
The fabulous Sababurg Castle and the impressive Sababurg Jungle are highlights in the Reinhardswald Nature Park, which can be admired on the stage. Through the Reinhardswald we go to the former pilgrimage village of Gottsbüren, which became known by the alleged discovery of the "corpse of Christ" in 1330 and brought money for the construction of the pilgrimage church. The Weserbergland Trail continues to Gieselwerder. This part of the trail is particularly close to nature and varied by crossing the Lumbach (also called Trumbach) several times. In wet weather, special caution is advised here, as the path can be slippery.
Through the northern part of the Reinhardswald forest you will reach the stage destination in the baroque town of Bad Karlshafen, where you can relax in the Weser thermal baths after a long day of hiking.
