The mighty Bernkogel on the valleyâs western flank â a trail run for true mountain enthusiasts! The route starts in Unterberg, following the beautifully designed Bärenweg, a smooth-flowing trail through the forest leading up to Amoseralm. From there, the run continues along the forest road to the unserviced Amoserhochalm.
Now the real challenge begins: The trail crosses the northern flank past a striking scree field before the final steep ascent up the western side of Bernkogel. With every step, the panoramic views expand, while the diverse alpine flora adds to the scenery. Reaching the summit is the ultimate reward â a breathtaking 360° view over the Northern Limestone Alps, the Hochkönig Massif, the Salzach Valley, and the Gastein Valley. A trail run that combines technique, elevation, and spectacular landscapes!
