Approximately 264 kilometers long, the "Southern Black Forest Cycle Route" leads around the Southern Black Forest Nature Park. The route is perfect for leisure cyclists and can be completed in three to four days. Starting in Hinterzarten with small ascents via Titisee-Neustadt – and then downhill along the Bähnle Cycle Route, through the Wutachflühen to the Upper Rhine, westward towards Rheinfelden over the Dinkelberg, and along the Upper Rhine towards Freiburg. The 600-meter altitude difference between Freiburg and Hinterzarten is easily managed with the Höllentalbahn.
