Learn about the lifestyle and culture of mountain farmers and craftsmen of the past. This farmhouse remained unchanged for centuries.
This over 300-year-old house offers insight into the lifestyle and culture of mountain farmers and craftsmen of the past.
The smoke room is fully equipped and still used for cooking and smoking. Pieces of marinated meat hang in the smoke under the pitch-black beam ceiling. Occasionally, we cook the "Häfennigl" on the open hearth fire for our guests.
The original furnishings, painted cabinets, tools of the farmers, shingle and thatched roofers, cooper, shoemaker, tailor, and weaver, as well as old pictures and documents, give a glimpse into the past. Over 300 exhibit pieces tell of the joys and sorrows of old times.
