The Teichalm high moor is 7,500 to 9,000 years old and may have originated from a lake. The still existing high moor is probably the last remnant of a once large, contiguous high moor landscape in the valley floor of the Teich- and Sommeralm.
The path around the Teichalmsee in the Almenland Nature Park is flat and gravelled, with the path leading through the moor via wooden walkways. This path can also be navigated by wheelchair or stroller.
For a longer tour, the moor nature trail can be combined with the Teichalm round. It is the ideal tour for anyone taking their first alpine hike.
In winter, during snow and ice, the moor educational trail is closed for safety reasons.
