Installation
In order to be able to make an entry on a summit, at an alpine cabin or at another location, our app must of course first be installed and you have to register.
SummitLynx can be downloaded free of charge for Android smartphones from the Google Play Store and for iPhones from the Apple App Store. Just follow the buttons at the bottom of the page or search for “SummitLynx” in the respective store and install it.
Registration
When you start the app, you immediately get to the registration window. You can choose between authentication with Facebook, with your Apple-ID (not for Android) or entry of your e-mail-address and a password.
Registration via Facebook has the advantage that you don’t need to remember another password and entries can be shared via Facebook without having to log in again. Your name and profile picture will also automatically be taken from Facebook.
E-mail and password
A user with a name, an e-mail address and a password is created. Each time you log in, you have to enter your e-mail address and password. Name and profile picture also have to be entered by yourself. Of course, a link to Facebook can still be made in the settings later on.
After the first login you are asked if the app may access your location. Please accept that. We use your location to be able to make the checkins and to be able to show the map of your surrounding. When you choose that the app can access your location all the time (not only by using the app), we are also able to give you check in proposals afterwards.
