The Black Forest region of Belchen, with its nine picturesque vacation resorts, is one of the most beautiful hiking regions in the southern Black Forest. Characterized by the third highest and most panoramic mountain in the Black Forest, the 1,414-metre-high Belchen, which promises spectacular views thanks to its unique panoramic view, the vacation region bordering the Upper Black Forest is located in the middle of the Southern Black Forest Nature Park and in the heart of the Black Forest Biosphere Reserve.
A 250-kilometre network of hiking trails spans an impressive natural and cultural landscape around the Belchen, with a total of nine themed trails, three Kneipp hiking routes and the premium hiking trail and Black Forest gourmet trail Belchensteig, which was named Germany's most beautiful hiking trail in 2020.
We reach cozy huts and mountain inns on countless lonely forest paths that lead through beautiful mixed forests and past pristine moorland and fragrant mountain meadows and pastures. From their terraces we enjoy views as far as the Swiss Alps or the neighboring Vosges mountains.
Friendly hosts who have been awarded the title of "hiker-friendly", mountain railroads, package deals and the KONUS guest card, with which hikers can use the buses free of charge, round off the hiking offer in one of the most beautiful regions of the Black Forest.
