Whether you take a walk along Lake Garda or you choose a mountain hike to the Val di Fassa valley, a view of the Dolomites, crystal-clear mountain lakes and sometimes even the scent of rare blossoms will be your constant companions in the Trentino region. The Tremalzo, not far from Lake Ledro, is one of the Alpine regions with the widest variety of flowers. In the Trentino region you often hike amidst pine and mountain pine forests and you will see valleys so green that they almost seem endless.
An easy, but beautiful hike will for example lead you up to the Monte di Mezzocorona. Once you arrive at the mountain peak, you will be rewarded with a stunning view. If you continue the path to the Alpine refuge Malga Kraun, you can discover beautiful wooden sculptures along the way of the Magia del bosco path (magic of the forest). The hike takes approximately two hours. You could also take the cable railway to get up there.
Lake Tret in the Val di Non valley lies between the Trentino region and South Tyrol near Bolzano. The lake can be reached in approximately one hour. The hike is an easy circular path without any challenging passages. A dip in Lake Tret is definitely a must here!
Those who prefer more demanding tours will find numerous long-distance trails in the Trentino region, such as the Paloronda and the Gardatrek. There are three circular paths on the Gardatrek at the northern side of Lake Garda. The highest of all circular paths of the Gardatrek is the so-called Top Loop. This tour comprises seven stages, 7 350 metres of elevation gain and it leads from the lakefront to the summit regions of Monte Misone, Stivo and Altissimo.
