For the shorter option of the big Chiemgau circuit, the journey to Chiemsee leads exactly along the same way past Walchsee, Reit im Winkl and via Siegsdorf and Staudach to Chiemsee Lake. Only the return leg is slightly shortened. Here the route leads to Rimsting further south through Hörzing and Bacham past Frasdorf. With the impressive Kampenwand mountain always in sight, the route continues into picturesque Aschau in Chiemgau uphill to Sachrang and into Austrian climes. Here you’ll finally have covered all the altitude gain required. Past Wildbichl you’ll find your way back into Kufsteinerland, cycling past Niederndorf and Ebbs back to the starting point at the lower town square again.
