From the car park at the “Sixenhof“ local history museum head towards the campsite “Alpen Caravan Park Achensee“ and from there follow the signs to the “Gaisalm“ mountain hut, passing “Seewinkel“ and then further on to the “Mariensteig“ path. This small path along the lake gradually ascends and then leads down to the “Gaisalm“ mountain hut (jetty) over steep steps. Walk over gravel plains and narrow steep paths to Pertisau, from there follow the lake promenade to Seespitz (jetty). Continue on the lake promenade in the direction Buchau, past the jetty you reach the “Prälatenhaus“. From here the path continues on the eastern lakeshore to the campsite “Achensee Camping Schwarzenau“, the jetty Achenseehof, until you reach the jetty “Scholastika“ in Achenkirch.
The loop trail around the lake can also be competed by ship.
