The picturesque 2.2 km long adventure winter hiking trail to the Stöcklalm leads across snow-covered fields and offers you breathtaking views of the Hohe Salve right at the start of the season. Along the way, resting places with benches invite you to linger. There are natural wonders large and small to discover everywhere, such as icicles, snow flowers and fascinating plays of light. Depending on the weather, you can also admire lovingly designed snow sculptures along the way.
From the top station of the Hexenwasser gondola lift in Hochsöll, walk right past the "Blaues Wunder" (self-catering room and indoor play area) to the new âbewitched winter wonderlandâ with gingerbread house and natural ice rink. With a bit of luck, you may meet the winter witch at the campfire here.
After crossing the slope, continue in the direction of the witches' umbrellas. Once you arrive at the maple tree house with the suspension bridge, the trail climbs steeply to the right. Along the edge of the forest, you then reach the steeper and more challenging âHolzwegâ downhill on the left (only for sure-footed hikers) or you can continue to stroll comfortably straight ahead and enjoy the Salvenblick view slightly downhill to Gasthof Stöcklalm. After a leisurely stop for refreshments, hike back along the direct route to the witches' umbrellas along the piste to the starting point in Hochsöll.
