The hike begins at the Hauserbauer hiking starting point and leads through a spruce forest to the Steiner Hochalm (farmed). Some wetlands and fens characterise the rest of the trail to the smaller Paarsee lake. The ascent is rewarded with a wonderful panorama - the Hochkönig massif to the north, the Gastein Valley to the south and, of course, the view of the GroÃer Paarsee. The extension of the hike to the Gasteiner Höhe offers a perfect combination of nature enjoyment, sporting challenge, summit victory and breathtaking views of the Gastein Valley.
