From the hiking parking lot in Taubental, follow the road for approx. 150 meters in the direction of Gmünd town centre. The Waldkugelbahn trail (SG 1) starts at the two Limes information boards on the right.
A narrow, small forest path leads hikers of all ages up to the plateau near Wetzgau to the "Himmelsgarten" landscape and family park. Here, visitors are rewarded with a breathtaking view of the Albtrauf from the 38-metre-high "Himmelsstürmer" observation tower. While the grown-ups take a break, the little ones can splash around undisturbed in the large water playground and go rafting.
From the sky garden, the path leads down the NATURATUM, an adventure forest trail with many discovery and forest experience stations, through the mysterious, centuries-old recreational forest in the Taubental valley. As a special highlight, the XXL ball track winds and meanders through the forest. Wooden balls for the ball track can be purchased from the ball machines for €0.50. A barbecue area near the parking lot invites you to round off the tour in comfort.
If you are traveling with a baby carriage, you must take the ascent via the forest discovery footbridge to the sky garden.
