The Kitzbühel Ultra Trail starts in the city center of Kitzbühel, forming a loop around Kitzbühel and the holiday villages of Aurach and Jochberg. This route covers all the classic spots in the Kitzbühel mountains and features a high proportion of trails while remaining technically manageable.
The trail begins by passing Kitzbüheler Horn, then heads into the southern mountains of Kitzbühel. Here, you’ll encounter Tristkogel, one of the most coveted photo spots, and Geisstein, the highest grassy mountain in the Kitzbühel Alps, before descending via Sintersbach gorge back into the valley. From Jochberg, the route continues towards Wagstädt and Blaue Lacke (Blue Lake), offering views of Kleiner (small) and Großer (Big) Rettenstein Mountains, and traversing the KitzSki area multiple times.
Highlights include Schwarzkogel mountain and, towards the end, Steinbergkogel ridge. A beautiful trail over Malernalm and Einsiedelei leads back to the city center of Kitzbühel. This trail can be completed in one piece, or divided into two or three parts, providing a stunning and unforgettable experience.
