The tour begins at the Sonnberg car park in Achenkirch, adjacent to the biomass cogeneration plant. From here, the route climbs steadily along a forest road through woodland. While much of the route is shaded in the morning, it becomes sunnier and warmer as the day progresses. Enjoy frequent views over the valley, and after seven switchbacks, you'll reach the Adlerhorst hut. A nearby vantage point offers an unobstructed view of Lake Achensee.
