The hike takes you along the raging water on narrow paths through the green, mossy rock faces of the Schluchtensteig. You will also pass the remains of the Räuberschlössle, which towers on an 80-metre-high rock directly above one of the wildest and most impressive sections of the gorge. There is no better resting place! Below the nearby Stallegg ruins, the Wutach thunders with a deafening roar over the barrage of the Stallegg river power station, the oldest of its kind in Baden, which supplied the princely castle and Fürstenberg brewery with electricity from 1889 to 1979.
