Sources. Streams. Waterfalls – From the Black Forest to the Rhine Falls.
The cross-border premium long-distance hiking trail "WasserWeltenSteig" connects "Germany's highest waterfalls" in Triberg with Europe's largest waterfall, the Rhine Falls near Schaffhausen in Switzerland. Spanning 6 stages and a total length of about 109 kilometers, this premium trail showcases everything that characterizes the Black Forest and the neighboring Schaffhausen region: mountains, forests, meadows, and gorges, as well as observation towers offering views extending to the Swiss Alps. And, of course, the element that gives the trail its name: water. Hikers encounter water in various experiential realms, in the form of springs, streams, and lakes, as well as in its most spectacular form: waterfalls. For more information: www.wasserweltensteig.de
