Start is the car park of the Markbachjoch cable car in the centre of Niederau. Take the main road for approx. 1 km to the Wildenbach bus stop. Turn left onto the route nr. 353. The track is a relatively steep gravel road which winds it's way up to the Norderberg Alm and a lovely rest stop. After the alm (bikes have to be lifted over a cattle gate) the track continues as far as the Markbachjoch. At the top of the Markbachjoch you have the choice between the Markbachjoch Alm or the Rübezahl Hut for a rest stop. Ride past the top station of the gondola and then turn right onto the Flecklweg. Take the road back down to the valley via Penning (MTB 229) and ultimately to Hopfgarten (approx. 8 km). At the junction turn left and after 700 m left again. Follow the road up the serpentine bends back to Niederau and the start (6 km).
