This fascinating walk along the sunny side to the foot of the Kaisergebirge mountain range starts at the bathing lake Going (742 m) (pay & display). From here, follow the signs to "Wanderstartplatz Hüttling". This is the location of the small Aschingerkapelle chapel and its fountain – the successor to the ruined Steinangerkapelle chapel. This provides a wonderful opportunity to take your first refreshment break and fill your water bottle with cool spring water from the Wilder Kaiser!
Continue along the steep incline of the forest road until you reach the Schleier Waterfall intersection. This marks the start of the ascent via Alpine pastures and sections of forest until you return to the forest road after around 20 minutes. A narrow path that requires surefootedness then leads you to the climbing paradise that is the Schleier Waterfall. The waterfall ripples like a veil of water in front of the overhanging rock faces – a stunning natural spectacle. This is a special place and the perfect location for a terrific holiday photo!
The connecting trail from the Schleier Waterfall to the Stiegenbach Waterfall (trail no. 822) is closed indefinitely due to a rockslide. As a result, you should walk back a little along trail no. 818 before taking the first turnoff to the right and heading through open terrain until you come to hiking trail no. 817. Continue to the Obere Regalm mountain hut (1,313 m) and across Alpine meadows as you climb up the Brennender Palven mountain (1,527 m). You will then be rewarded with a stunning view. Take a moment to pause at the famous Bergsteigergrab, the final resting place of the renowned climber nicknamed “Koasamuch”. Trail 824 leads downhill in a westerly direction to the Gaudeamushütte mountain hut (1,263 m), which is known for its homemade specialities and the spectacular view over the Ellmauer Tor rock saddle.
To make your descent, follow the marking 813 in the direction of Märchenwiese and continue along this route until you reach Tannbichlkapelle. Known as a “mountain climbers’ chapel”, this was built in memory of all mountain climbers who have perished in accidents. If you stay on the forest road as it leads you downhill past the basin (which is fed by the sources of the Wilder Kaiser) and the barriers, this will bring you to the road at the end of the forest. Follow Kaiserweg to your left before taking the first turnoff heading left. At the end of the asphalt road, a meadow path (no. 2) leads in the direction of Going bathing lake.

The Schleier Waterfall is a unique natural spectacle. A bubbling mountain stream falls as a wall of water onto a rock face 60 metres below.
