From the beautifully situated Ochsenalm, the first flat ascent leads through the so-called "Matreier Grube" to the Kalbenjoch. The mighty Serles and Lämpermahdspitze tower on the right and the Peilspitze with its steep walls is somewhat forbidding on the left. At the Kalbenjoch, the terrain opens up and gives you a view of the Gschnitztal valley and to the south. Now follow the somewhat exposed ridge up to the cross of the Peilspitz, supported by one or two rope belays. At the summit, a magnificent view over the entire Wipptal valley and its side valleys awaits the climber. Once you have enjoyed the great panorama long enough, the route leads through species-rich mountain meadows over the Kalbenjochmähder down to the Blaserhütte, which invites you to stop for a break. The tour ends with the return via the "Lange Tal" to the Ochsenalm.
ROUTE DESCRIPTION
From the car park near the Ochsenalm, first follow a wide cart track in a south-westerly direction. Before a steep step, the cart track turns into a path that winds its way up to the Kalbenjoch. Here you turn to the east - on the flank below the ridge, the path is somewhat exposed up to the summit cross, supported by one or two rope belays. After reaching the highest point of the tour, you descend via the Kalbenjochmähder to the Blaserhütte, which lies on a small hill above a saddle. The descent back to the starting point is finally in a northerly direction via the "Lange Tal" back to the car park.
