Tour above Rosslauf-Obernberger Tribulaun-Schwarze Wand-Gstreinjöchll - Randonnée

Tour above Rosslauf-Obernberger Tribulaun-Schwarze Wand-Gstreinjöchll

Randonnée

From the end of the Obernbergtal, the trail first climbs up to the Obernberger See and from there gently climbs back to the Portjoch.  From the Portjoch, a crossing into the Pflerschtal, a well laid out path leads along the ridge up to the Rosslaufspitzen. Again and again, one changes the side of the valley and thus gets new and interesting insights into the surrounding mountain world. Also the one or other insured and somewhat more exposed place is to be mastered. Around the summit of the Nördlicher Rosslauf, the ridge begins to widen and gradually forms a small, stony plateau with fantastic rock formations towards the Obernberger Tribulaun in the east. If you want, you can take the Tribulaun summit with you, but you have to descend and then ascend again. The next intermediate destination of the tour is the top of the Black Wall. For this, the path leads along the northern side of the massif, above hundreds of metres of steep rock faces. The following descent down to the Schneetalscharte is also not for the faint hearted and in any case an exciting undertaking. The ruggedness and wildness of the massif, the exposure and remoteness of the paths as well as the fantastic views are ultimately also the factors that create the very special atmosphere of this varied tour. When you reach the Schneetalscharte and the following descent down to the Tribulaunhütte, you leave it behind you for a while, but the joyful excitement is still very much in evidence even when you eat and drink.  Strengthened, you can then tackle the admittedly somewhat difficult ascent to Gstreinjöchl, from where the last section of the tour, the descent via Hinterenns back to the starting point, awaits you.

ROUTE DESCRIPTION

From the car park you first walk in a southerly direction up to the Obernberger See and back to the Seealm. At the end of the lake, the forest path gradually becomes a trail (No. 93), which climbs gently up to the Portjoch. Several paths meet at the Portjoch, here you have to follow the steep path with the nr. 32, which follows the ridge on the right side up to the Rosslaufspitzen. After a good hour of strenuous ascent, one finally reaches the plateau covered with stones between the Nördlicher Rosslaufspitze and the Schwarzer Wand. Here one also meets the direct ascent path from the lake to the Obernberger Tribulaun (No. 129). This path must also be followed if you want to go down to the summit cross. Otherwise follow the ridge over one or the other insured spot and continue to the Schwarze Wand, the highest point of the tour. Once this is done, the next step is the descent down to the Schneetalscharte. This is also very exposed and should therefore be approached with appropriate concentration and caution. From the Schneetalscharte you have to descend another 600 m in a northerly direction to the Tribulaunhütte, before you can recover a little from the exertions of the previous route with food and drink. Last but not least, the return to the Obernbergtal along the Max Dellantoni path with the no. 127 has to be mastered. To do this, you first have to climb a good 500m in serpentines up to the Gstreinjöchl. Once this is done, the descent over 1200m to Hinterenns and from there back to the starting point follows.

TIP OF THE AUTHOR

A stop at the beautifully located Tribulaunhütte is almost a must. Here you can relax on the terrace with a wonderful panoramic view, while having a drink and a bite to eat, and recover from the exertions of the very long ascent.
