In spring 2017, the Salzkammergut BergeSeen Trail, the first long-distance hiking trail in the Salzkammergut was inaugurated. On trails marked with the Salzkammergut BergeSeen Trail logo, it connects no fewer than 35 lakes – this is probably unique in the world of long-distance hiking trails. There are no climbing routes to overcome, but some short, exposed rocky passages that require safe footsteps, freedom from vertigo and correspondingly robust footwear.
