The Gastein Summit Crown is an alpine challenge for experienced mountaineers with extensive knowledge and proper equipment. To earn this exclusive hiking badge, all 55 summits in the valley must be climbed – many of them off marked trails, in unmarked alpine terrain.
Important: Some routes can only be safely undertaken with a mountain guide. A good sense of direction, sure-footedness, and alpine experience are essential. Certain peaks can only be reached in winter as part of ski tours. If in doubt, booking a certified mountain guide is strongly recommended.
Each summit counts once per round, and scoring is based on difficulty. A minimum of 55 points is required. The hiking badge can be earned once.
Proof & Award:
The Summit Crown is considered achieved once stamps, photos, or other evidence have been submitted to and verified by the Bad Gastein Alpine Club.
All proceeds go to the volunteer Alpine Club members who maintain the valley's trails.
