Hiking in one of the most attractive and beautiful landscapes in Austria! In the north the rugged Kalkalpen with the gigantic Dachstein, in the middle the gentle wooded slate mountains and in the south the Radstädter and Schladminger Tauern with charming peaks, wide pasture areas and many beautiful embedded mountain lakes - countless tours invite you to discover this fascinating mountain world. The Tappenkarsee, the Gerzkopf with the Schwarzen Lacke or the almost 1,800 m high Rossbrand (Radstadt's local mountain) with its unique panoramic view of around 150 mountain peaks are just 3 recommendations for pure hiking pleasure. Incidentally, the Rossbrand can also be reached by the hiking bus. Gourmets can strengthen themselves with hearty home cooking in the inns and alpine huts along the routes and the beautiful natural landscape helps to leave everyday life behind. Radstadt is also a stage destination on the Salzburger Almenweg, which stretches over 350 km from the Tennengebirge over the Tauern to the Dachstein. Whether on your own on the well-signposted hiking trails or on guided hikes and mountain tours: you should make sure that you have good equipment and that you are in good physical condition. There are easier hikes for families with children. A special recommendation for this is the children's theme trail "Alles Alm" in the area of the Gnadenalm, where children and adults can get to know life on the Alm then and now at various stations.
