The hiking trail begins at the entrance of the village Rinnen opposite the Hotel Thaneller / chapel. The path runs slightly up through the forest until you reach a beautiful, wide meadow path. After 20 minutes walking along the path you reach the valley "Tiefes Tal". Further uphill, on the right on the path through the forest, you reach the Kögele Hütte after another 20 minutes walking time. The path continues past the Rastkopfhütte to the crossing "Sattelkopf - Hönig". On the left, slightly uphill, you get to the Sattelkopf. Then turn left at the Sattelkopf and hike up, over serpentines to Hönig 2.034 m.
