The hike starts at the Alpenpension Lackenbauer in Angertal. Follow the signs on the forest road in the direction of Bärstein. With beautiful views of Bad Hofgastein, the trail goes slightly uphill until you reach the Bergasthof Bärsteinalm. The trail then continues to the Schlossalmbahn middle station. Here a footpath leads back downhill towards the Bad Hofgastein valley station.
