This scenic trail loop starts in the centre of Bad Hofgastein and leads to the idyllically situated Brandner Hochalm. At the beginning, the route runs along partly tarmac and partly gravel paths towards Goldberg - ideal for a run-in. As the altitude increases, you enter the forest zone, where rooty paths and small stream crossings provide technical variety. The ascent to the Hochalm is a moderate but steady climb - clearings repeatedly open up views of the valley. Once at the top, the terrain opens up and reveals the path to the picturesque alpine pasture with its wide pastures. On a clear day, the view extends as far as the peaks of the Ankogel group. The downhill back to Bad Hofgastein is fast but challenging - partly rocky, partly flowy and peppered with short, steep sections. A versatile tour with a classic trail character and ideal for medium distances in terms of endurance and technique.
