The starting point of the ski tour to the Graukogel is the car park at the valley station of the Graukogelbahn. This is located on the road from Bad Gastein into the Kötschachtal. The ascent leads from the car park first along the ski slope to the middle station. After a few minutes walk you cross the chairlift of the Graukogelbahn and you reach an open field above the Windischgrätzhöhe with a great view of Bad Gastein. Follow the narrow path until it joins a wider piste again. At the middle station you follow the slope to reach the mountain station. Pass the middle station and take the flat path in a north-easterly direction. After the so-called "S", a short, steeper section of the slope, the trail continues in undulating terrain to the valley station of the T-bar lift. After that 2 more challenging climbs follow until you reach the top station of the Graukogel lifts.
