From Kitzbühel town centre proceed towards the Schwarzsee lake and along the Reither Landesstraße (secondary road) to Gasthof Reinache. Via the mountain classification “Rerobichl” to Oberndorf and through Sperten | Weitau to St. Johann. After a short stretch on the B 178 turn left for the ascent to Gasteig. The route leads onto Schwendt. After the centre of Schwendt turn left passing through Bichlach | Kranzach and onto Walchsee. In Walchsee join the bike path (near Walchsee golf club) and continue through the hamlet of Rettenschöss on peaceful roads to Wildbichl (780 m). Cross over the border to Sachrang. On a consistently downhill road you approach Aschau im Chiemgau and Bernau am Chiemsee. Head southeast through Grassau and Marquartstein on the secondary road to Schleching and then along a small mountain road to Kössen. Continue south along the secondary road. Just before Erpfendorf turn right onto the old Landesstraße (secondary road) and follow the peaceful road through Kirchdorf and onto St. Johann. Follow the Römerweg to the finishing post at Kitzbühel. (see Kitzbühel Circuit)
