This beautiful cycle route, which stretches from Donauwörth, Augsburg over a total of around 700 km to Venice or Verona, is known for its numerous changing impressions of nature.
Sometimes it is possible to experience 3 different “seasons” within the route.
2,000 years ago, the Romans developed the routes of the Etruscans, Rhaetians and Celts into the first trans-European road across the Alps. It connected the regions and towns along the way with the rest of the world, promoting cultural exchange and economic development. For 2000 years - from antiquity to the present day - the most important connecting axis has shaped and continues to shape regions, times, people and their cultures. Today, the Via Claudia Augusta is a well-known and successful cultural and tourist route, an axis of shared identity, encounters and cultural and economic exchange.
