This hike begins at the trail head next to the Hauserbauer, leading you through a forest of spruce to the Steiner Hochalm (staffed). Several wetland areas and low moors accompany the next stage of your hike to the Small Paarsee. Your aacent is rewarded by beautiful panoramas - the Hochkönig Massif in the north, Gastein Valley in the south and, naturally, the sight of the Big Paarsee.
