After the solar baths, corss over the Mühlbach stream and follow the road up to Gasthof Hauserbauer. From here, carry on to the right to the Reitergut farm. Now, continue on the track to the Heumoosalm until you reach the fork to the Paarseen (lakes). Turn left here, up the moderately climbing trail, as far as the Paulbauernalm. Now, walk on towards the north to the cabins on the Maierhofer Alm. A track also leads up to this point from Maierhofen (beginning at Gasthof Silberkrug inn). The footpath now takes you on up across sunny open terrain towards the Urkübl. By an bench, you come to the fork to the Paarsee lakes, which can be reached via the Almrosenfeld. From the upper Paarsee, a marked footpath leads on towards the north just above the big lake to an elevation and then descends to the Hasseckalm. This hut in one of the oldest summer pasture cabines in the region and is serviced in summer. The path takes you down to the Luxkogel. Follow the trail 20 m below the Luxkogel north-westwards to the mouth of the valley. All along this hiking route in the lower Gastein Valley you can enjoy some wonderful views over the Hohe Taerin, the Northern Limestone Alps and the Salzach Valley. Now join footpath No 530 and make your way down steeply into the Salzach Valley. When you come to a fork, you may like to opt for the route down to Lend or, eastwards, to the little village of Loifarn where you can catch the train back from the railway station.
