From Böckstein, the Alte Nassfelderstraße leads steadily uphill in the direction of Sportgastein, past thundering waterfalls and rocky walls. This is followed by a steep climb up to the Bockhartseehütte, which invites you for refreshments. The view fascinates with contrasts: Below, the alpine pastures on the gentle valley floor; above, the peaks of the 3000-meter peaks of the Hohe Tauern National Park. The trail continues over the dam wall of the Lower Bockhartsee and up to the Miesbichlscharte, which opens up the view into the Angertal valley. Over big stones the path continues to the Zittrauer Tisch and the Tischkogel. The all-round view over the Gastein Valley is breathtaking. The trail descends along the eastern slope of the Tischkogel past avalanche barriers to the Zittraueralm. After a short flat section follows the final downhill - about 800 meters in altitude first over steep meadow slopes to the Böckfeldalm and finally the steep trail back to the starting point.
