Starting from St. Gertrauden, you first hike across fields and through clear forests, with a slight incline up to the village of Fanningberg. Now you leave the road and follow a forest path that winds its way through the larch and pine forest. Soon you are above the tree line and can enjoy the magnificent view over the entire Lungau region. Now it's not far to the wooden summit cross on the Moserkopf. If you wish, you can continue on a flat incline over moorland up to the Fanningberg summit.
