Here is an English translation of your hiking description for the Gaisberg and the GOASberg Adventure Tour:
Today you’re hiking up the Gaisberg – a mountain that is geologically unique.
When the Alps formed millions of years ago, the Gaisberg was “torn away” from the rugged massif of the Wilder Kaiser due to a process known as Alpine folding. This has resulted in distinctly different rock formations and plant life compared to the surrounding mountains.
From Brixen, simply follow the signs marked Brixenbachalm and Wiegalm. The route begins with a gentle ascent until the road crosses the Brixenbach stream on the right. Important: Do not cross the bridge—continue straight ahead, following the yellow signs toward Kreuzweg and Brixenbachalm. You’ll soon find yourself on a Way of the Cross. In Tyrol, Christianity is deeply rooted, and such devotional paths, which depict the story of Jesus Christ through illustrated stations, hold special significance for locals.
After a good climb, your next stop is the Brixenbachalm. By the time you arrive there, you’ll have been hiking for over an hour! Just before the alm (mountain pasture hut), a trail branches off to the left toward the Wiegalm. This path climbs steeply through alpine meadows and then leads into the forest. You're now getting close to the Wiegalm, which you’ll reach via a forest road.
Just behind the Wiegalm, take the left-hand trail toward Gaisberg. At this point, you need to make a decision:
Do you want to reach a summit today?
If yes, continue uphill from the Wiegalm through open alpine pastures. The summit is about 45 minutes from here. The trail winds along the ridge until you reach the top. Near the summit, the path dips and climbs slightly, and you can clearly see the changing geology. After enjoying the view, be cautious on the way down—the trail is steep and partly eroded by rain. Once the steep section is behind you, follow the signs toward Bärstättalm and continue toward the Gaisberg lift.
If you decide not to climb to the summit, continue straight ahead via the Harlassanger Alm / Kobinger Hütte and the Bärstättalm to rejoin the main route. Keep an eye on the yellow signs marked Harlassanger, Kobinger Hütte, and Bärstättalm. The trail undulates gently and soon you'll spot the Harlassangeralm and Kobinger Hütte nearby. Then, a wide trail leads gently downhill through alpine pastures to the Bärstättalm. From there, follow the signs to the Gaisberg lift—you’re back on the main route!
The path leads into a lovely mixed forest. After a few turns, you’ll come across avalanche barriers. Can you spot them? These are especially important in winter as they help prevent dangerous avalanches.
Before long, you’ll reach the Gaisbergalm and the Gaisberg chairlift station right next to it.
