Der Wanderbus fährt vom Postamt in Lech bis zur Bushaltestelle Formarinsee, der Endstation. Hier beginnt auf einer Höhe von 1.793 Metern der Lechweg. Ein erster Abstecher über den Güterweg zum Formarinsee lohnt sich bereits: Es öffnet sich ein wunderschönes Panorama mit Blick über den See. Nach einer Kehrtwende geht es zurück zur Bushaltestelle und von dort weiter ein kurzes Stück an der Straße entlang zur Alpe Formarin. Dort zweigt ein Wiesenweg nach rechts ab und führt vorbei am Steinbock-Denkmal, das an die Wiedereinsetzung des Steinwilds seit 1958 erinnert. Hier lebt eine der größten Steinbock-Kolonien Europas. Dies ist das Lechquellgebiet: Im Frühjahr, nach der Schneeschmelze, kann man einige Quellen gleich neben dem Weg beobachten. Nach etwa einer Stunde Gehzeit quer durch Wiesen und vorbei an wettergezeichneten Kalksteinfindlingen begleitet der Formarinbach den weiteren Weg. Bald schon vereint er sich mit dem Spullerbach zum jungen Lech. Immer weiter talauswärts über hölzerne Wege und Brücken führt der Lechweg vorbei am Gasthof Älpele, bis Sie den Ortsteil Zug erreichen. Am Fischteich wird der frisch gefangene Fisch gleich noch gegrillt. Nun folgen Sie dem Lechuferweg und erreichen Lech am Arlberg über die Parzelle Tannberg.

starts here at 1,793 metres above sea level.
A first short detour on the »Gueterweg« to the Formarinsee is
well worth it: a beautiful panorama opens up with a view over
the lake. After a u-turn you head back to the bus stop. Take
the short way along the street to the Alpe Formarin. There a
meadow path forks to the right and leads you past the Steinbock
(Ibex) Monument, which reminds us of the resettlement
of these animals into the wild in 1958. One of the largest ibex
colonies in Europe lives here.
In the spring after the snowmelts you can, in the Lech source
area, see a few springs emerge right next to the trail. After
about an hour's march across mountain pastures and past
weathered limestone boulders, the Formarinbach (stream)
escorts you. Pretty soon it joins the waters of the Spullerbach
to form into the young Lech River. Farther down valley the
Lechweg passes the Aelpele, until you reach the locality of
Zug. At the fishpond, fresh fish are caught and grilled. Now
follow the Lech riverbank path to Lech am Arlberg crossing
the Tannberg parcel.
