The Eggen Valley in South Tyrol lies embedded in the Dolomites between the mountain landscapes of Rosengarten and Latemar. An ideal holiday destination with an extensive hiking network, natural beauty spots such as Lake Karer and the ski resorts of Obereggen and Carezza.

600 kilometres of mountain bike routes, 530 kilometres of hiking paths – the tightest network in South Tyrol – 90 kilometres of ski slopes in the Obereggen and Carezza skiing areas and 100 kilometres of cross country skiing trails as well as countless winter and snow shoe hiking opportunities are at the holidaymakers’ disposal. Even more impressive than the vast choice of available leisure activities is the fantastic mountain panorama between Rosengarten and Latemar. A panorama which stays with you when hiking, cycling or golfing. In the Eggen Valley at over 1.200 m altitude there are two golf courses - Carezza and Petersberg. In the valley on the other hand idyllic mountain villages are largely untouched with their old farm houses and guest houses.

The regional capital, Bozen, is close and worth a trip. A cultural highlight of the South Tyrol is the Maria Weißenstein abbey, the most important pilgrimage site in South Tyrol. In the Eggen Valley stargazers can visit the only astronomical observatory and planetarium in South Tyrol.
