From the top station of the Rofan cable car walk past the “Mauritzalm” mountain hut and take the path to “Rofanspitze”. Turn left past the “Grubalacke” to reach the “Grubascharte”. Cross the mountain peak “Rofanspitze” on its grassy southern side (detour to the summit possible) and then reach the “Schafsteigsattel”. The “Schafsteig” path descends steeply to the lake “Zireiner See” and is secured with a steel rope. Walk past the “Marchgatterl” (signposted E4 - Eagle Walk) alongside the lake towards the “Sonnwendjochhaus” mountain hut. Please note that the chairlift “Sonnwendjochlift” to Kramsach has been closed down.
