The small town Rettenschöss is closest to the broad Inn Valley and is also only 5 minutes away from the motorway exit Oberaudorf. You start the hike on 980 meters of altitude. Immediately after Gasthaus Schöne Aussicht, the signs point towards Karspitze. From there you can enjoy a long-distance view of up to 50 kilometers. The trail leads you back down to the Rettenbachalmen. Follow the public alpine path for about 1 kilometer until you come to a fork in the road. The road on the right leads you through the forest until you are on the south side of the Wandberg. After about 30 minutes you are on the Wandberg. Loferer Steinberge, Spielberghorn, Kitzbüheler Horn and in the background the Großglockner. In front of you is the Zahme Kaiser and on the right again the Inntal and the Chiemgau Alps in the back. After a short descent, the Burgeralm and the Wandberghütte invite you to stop for a bite to eat. For the way home, follow the public alpine path for about 1 hour until you reach the car again. Have fun.
