The starting point is the "Trins Waldfestplatz" bus stop or the "Waldfestplatz" car park. The trail initially runs mostly through the forest into the Padastertal valley until the first sharp right turn. Now follow the marked trail no. 122 straight across a meadow, continue over a bridge and up through the forest, always cutting off the bends in the forest road. Below the Foppmandl you now reach the tree line. Climb steeply for a good while, then turn left to the Padasterjochhaus. The ascent can also be done by mountain bike. From the hut, cross the slopes along trail no. 122 southwards to a shoulder above the Padasterjoch. The trail continues through steep slopes, past the Schäferhütte, to a cut in the terrain and then up into the nameless saddle between Hammerspitze and Kirchdachspitze to the Silbersattel. From there it is only a few more metres to the summit, the trail is rope-secured here. Once at the top, you are rewarded with a magnificent view! Descent as ascent.
